The Colour Palette

For the colour palette, The Willow Boughs uses a creamy, aged-yellow background with a tonal green Willow leaf motif that stretches across the mat in a repeat pattern. It adds a refreshing touch of colour into neutral interiors and complements a natural boho style.

The Pattern History

Heritage group Morris & Co, nurtured by influential Arts & Crafts pioneer William Morris, uphold the same values today, that its founding father in the nineteenth century was driven by. That is to live alongside considered, crafted objects, to see beauty in simplicity and to be inspired by nature. Willow Boughs is one of William Morris's most enduring wallpaper designs, in continuous production since 1887. The pattern consists of willow branches that form a diagonal branch pattern over the plain background.
