Size isn’t the only change we have made to the family though. We have also welcomed our first digitally printed playmats, introduced small-batch, limited edition designs and created the first non-repeat patterns too.

Unless otherwise stated, our playmats are manufactured using a gravure printing method. Gravure printing (also known as intaglio printing) is a high quality printing technique, renowned for its precision and consistency. Due to way film is used for this printing method, gravure is ideal for our repeat pattern playmats and less complex designs.

New for 2025, our manufacturers incredible digital printing technique allows us to bring even the smallest of detailing to life on a playmat and means we can use a greater depth of texture too. We are also able to experiment with colour in a way we cannot from the standard gravure printing process - ideal for our more intricate designs. It also lends itself to the limited edition playmats, due to the added cost that comes with this innovative production. Digital printing is only used currently for selected XL and Standard size playmats.
